31418C.BR An attractive and very small ebonised and brass inlaid lancet bracket clock, the case of typical lancet shape with brass stringing to the edges and brass rounded columns to the front sides. It has lancet shaped silk backed sound frets to the sides and a full size glazed rear door. The small enamel dial, signed for the makers ‘Grayhurst & Harvey, London’ has Roman numerals and nicely pierced blued steel hands. The eight day gut fusee movement is particularly attractive. It has nicely shaped shouldered plates and well executed edge engraving which follows through the back cock on the clock and both of the mounting brackets. The backplate is again signed for the makers ‘Grayhurst & Harvey, London’ and has a pendulum hold fast at the bottom and nicely shaped cocks to the bell stand hammer cock and back cock. The four spoke wheel work is finely crossed out and all the under dial work is nicely shaped. The clock has twin gut fusees and an anchor escapement. The pendulum has a nicely faceted brass rod and a small but relatively heavy brass bob. Height to top of case: 11.5" (29 cms.) Sold |
