A VERY ATTRACTIVE GRANDE SONNERIE CHAMPLEVE ENAMEL CARRIAGE CLOCK WITH ALARM & CENTRE SWEEP SECONDS. CIRCA 1890.

A particularly attractive champleve enamel carriage clock in an anglaise riche case. The enamel, of various hues of blue and ivory, is profusely applied to the base, columns and top of the clock. The gilded dial mask has an enamel dial with an enamel alarm dial below. The white enamel clock dial has Roman numerals and nicely shaped hands and the alarm dial has Arabic numerals. The sides and back of the clock are glazed with an additional glazed panel to the top to view the escapement.

The gilded grande sonnerie striking movement has a lever platform escapement and strikes the quarters and hours on two bells with selection lever in the base for silent, quarters only and hours and quarters. The movement repeating the hours and quarters at will via the repeat button.

The clock is numbered 1581.

The clock comes complete with its original travelling case and original numbered key.
