D. GUGERI, BOSTON. A FINE QUALITY MAHOGANY 12" WHEEL BAROMETER WITH CLOCK. CIRCA 1830.

This barometer, which is bordered with ebony and box stringing, has a swan-neck pediment with central brass finial and immediately below this a silvered scale for wet / dry indication and then a thermometer with silvered scale graduated in fahrenheit.

In the centre of the barometer is an eight day fusee timepiece with long rectangular plates and a 5" convex enamelled dial surrounded by a bezel which, when opened, reveals the starter for the pendulum.

The attractively engraved 12" barometer dial is surrounded by a substantial brass bezel. It has a blued steel hand to give the current reading and a brass one to record yesterdays.

Below the barometer dial is the ivory knob for positioning the brass hand and at the bottom is a spirit level incorporating Gugeri’s name.
