About us.

It was
in 1968 that Derek and Valerie Roberts established their business dealing in,
restoring, researching and selling fine antique clocks. Derek Roberts became a member of
the British Antique Dealers Association in 1973, gained his Freedom of The Worshipful
Company of Clockmakers in 1976 and one year later became a liveryman. The
business has been owned by Paul Archard since 2003. Paul has had a lifelong interest in clocks as
a major collector and recently as the proprietor of Campbell & Archard
Limited who are specialists in early Viennese clocks and exhibit at the
B.A.D.A. and one of the Olympa
Antique Fairs. |

Clive Collins,
Peter Dryburgh, Paul Archard, Rosemary Freeman and Candy (head of
security !)
On the cabinet making side we have Colin
Buckwell and Kevin Perry. Colin has
been with the business for some 25 years.
On the clockmaking front we have two full
time clockmakers, Clive Collins and Peter Dryburgh.
Clive, who has been with the organisation for some 20 years organises
this Website as well as his clockmaking duties and Peter, who has been with us
for some years on a part time basis, joined us full time earlier this year.
He trained at West Dean.
Duncan Greig, who many customers will know,
has also been with the business for over 20 years and looks after the after
sales services and deliveries and setting up, as well as controlling many of our
restoration projects.
Robert Wren is involved with Paul Archard on the general business side and in particular on sales and marketing.
Rosemary Freeman first joined them in 1975 and they are delighted that she has now been back again for some 8 years and for the last 5 years has been joined by Elizabeth Stracey. They will be pleased to help customers with their various enquiries and also assists in the production of books, catalogues and website.
The business has always striven to find the finest clocks, usually purchased privately, and restore them to the highest standards and this has proved possible because of our highly experienced and skilled team of craftsmen; together with the myriad of contacts established over the last 30 years.
Whilst Paul Archard is pleased to advise on the formation, maintenance and on occasions disposal of collections both large and small, we are also only too happy to assist in finding just the right clock for your home and if you want to exchange it for something else at a later date, take it back in part exchange.
